Anonymous asked: Hi! My boyfriend wants to get a little into cross dressing in the bedroom (he loves stockings and panties) and I wondered if you had any advice about shopping for those for a young man. He's a tall, thin guy. Like sizing and shop recommendations?
Firstly, thank you for being supportive and taking the initiative ^_^ I admire that. It wouldn’t necessarily have been an easy thing for him to admit to; I know it wasn’t initially for me =)
Secondly, where you can shop does depend on your location somewhat. As far as purchasing online, your options will be divided into places selling men’s lingerie, like xdress.com, and those selling women’s l lingerie marketed for men, like herroom.com.
Obviously if you buy lingerie designed for the male body, you’ll have a higher likelihood of it fitting and it being both flattering and accommodating. But the niche nature of the market means that they’re generally more expensive than their female shaped analogue. Also, for some people, a lot of the enjoyment comes from the taboo nature of it being something you’ve always been told you shouldn’t wear, so it being designed for men can detract from that aspect.
On the other hand, places like Herroom.com sell women’s lingerie, but publicly and wholeheartedly endorse their male clientele. They may not post to your country, but they have a really informative guide to buying for men and an exhaustive list of product user reviews for and from the same, both of which you can find here: http://www.herroom.com/lingerie-for-men.aspx
And as always, online marketplaces like eBay and Amazon offer a wealth of options.
All that said though, I’ve always found the highest success rate to be shopping in person =) Not every pair of panties is going to accommodate the male anatomy and it’s difficult to tell how forgiving the cut and blend will be without seeing and feeling it first.
Personally, I get most of my panties simply from department stores =) They’re cheap and you’re generally unhassled by salespeople =P Take him with you, it’ll be a fun experience and no one will be the wiser ^_^
As far as cuts go, the best advice I can give, from trial and error of buying an embarrassingly large amount of panties, is that as a general rule you want a cut with a relatively high waistline, a crotch that doesn’t taper inwards too quickly, an elastic blend and/or elasticated thighs. Essentially all for the same reason; too low, tapering or inflexible and there just won’t be enough volume of material in the front to contain and support him. Elasticated thighs help with the same.
There are exceptions; pleated panties have more material so can taper more quickly, the hem on boyleg panties sit further down the thigh so elastication isn’t as necessary and so on. But these criteria are generally met by all of my favourite pairs, most of which you’ll see on this blog ^_^
Of course, comfort can be a less important factor for something he won’t be wearing long ;D But something that actually fits will be important either way.
Sizing I can’t comment much on except to say you should see how yours would fit him and estimate from there =) If he knows his waist size, or can get it from a pair of jeans or pants he owns, then that can be beneficial when shopping online.
For tights and stockings, err on the side of caution and get them larger or taller than you think. Sizes may vary, but it’s hard to get them too big =P
Well, that was certainly more exhaustive than I initially intended =P But whatevs! I hope this helps Anon, and let me know how it goes okay? =)
